Red Cart Romance

I’m afraid I went to Target, yesterday and today. I’m afraid I spent too much money/all my Christmas money. Don’t tell J. I did get a whole lot of loot. I even made it to the store a little after 9 this morning (minor miracles.) Why is it that you can’t make it out of that store without spending at least $50? Shelves and shelves, ottoman, tables, rethinking the décor for the entire house; Target is transformative. Thomas O’Brien can be my muse.
If you ever want to know what to get me (and who among you doesn’t) if it’s labeled “Modern Home” it should make a new home with me. I did not get the mercury lamps with the day-glo shades. I did not get the two-tone table, or the matching storage boxes to the tables that did come home. The huge chocolate brown leatherish tote is still on the shelf. The ribbed lamp shades, the extra desk lamp, the console, the wall cubes, oh they are all waiting to be adopted.

A little red cart romance never hurt anyone, right?

Yes. Times two. Bedside tables. Am rethinking whole bedroom.

Normally we wouldn't talk, but you're so neutral and small. I crunched the numbers; it turns out that if I made you myself it would cost more to just invite you home. So home you are. Shh, my husband will be home soon and he can't find you here!

No. No. No. I love you, but it's not going to work out. You're still $30, you gorgeous thing. I know I chose light blue cube with little stumpy wood legs, and you have those elegant gams, but I can't have three disparate ottomans in the room, can I? Lalalala I can't hear you.

Here's the thing, it's not you it's me. Really, it's my kid. You wouldn't get along. I know you're only $20, but, well, if I see you this weekend...we can talk, DTR, and move on from there.
Besides, you're a quarter black and I'm thinking of changing to chocolate. Shush, I know that the frames are black too, but chocolate and robin's egg are calling me. Yes, we'll have to move first because red wall doesn't dig chocolate and robin's egg. I can't break up with red wall, we have a history together. The timing is all wrong. I'm still thinking of you, who knows what the future will bring?

Hello Carina! I really like chocolate, robin's egg and red! (What is wrong with that?!) I also talk to my posessions! And Thai Chili is in Orem! You left that out! (When are we getting married?!)

It's the black that is feeling left out (black frames on the B&W photography.) I don't think they will mind living with chocolate, do you? Unless two-tone table came to live here then there would be more black...

NO! Too much furniture as it is.
Also, I ordered red bolsters for my camel couches. This is before I started to wildly consider (again) chocolate and robin's egg. Panic ensues, can I stop my order?

And then I saw them all there, together, in my mind's eye, and they looked so amazing.

The only question now is, what do we do about green?

(Oh how people would talk.)

It's crazy isn't it? You honestly don't expect to spend more than 10 dollars. However, there is no way you're walking out of that store without spending at least $50.00.

P.S. Two-Tone Table did come home to live. I just happened to find a use for it when I rearranged my living room (again.)
