What IS it Like With a Boy Under the Roof?

Well, there are the potted plants.
And the half monkey thing.

They know exactly what to do with a giant dirt pile.

I think that was a bug.

THAT'S a bug for sure. Well.

At least I don't have to make dinner.

Of course, the tub ends up looking up like this.

They do love their uncles, though.

As much as I don't like kids, I hope to have a pack of boys under the roof one of these days. El Guille is adorable.

Tonight, I wiped my wet, just-washed bathroom hands on my fave 3-year-old's cheeks and said, "Teach me how to pee." So he went into the bathroom, pulled down his pants, and said, "Okay. I'll show you. You pee like this, see?" As I supported my weak, laughing body against the wall, he then turned around, sat on the toilet, and showed me how to do something else. I was rolling, I tell you!

Oh little boys! So much fun. Especially when they're as cute as El Guille.

Suge, this post could be a children's book. Or, more accurately, one of those children's books that's really an adult book/coffee table children's books. You know what I talking?

Thanks for the head's up.

It wasn't until I had a girl that I realized how active and messy boys really are. I kept waiting for Phoebe to throw things or climb up things or run away from me in crowded stores, and she just sat there and always followed me and was (WAS) quiet. Weird.

I love the dirt eating pictures--what a doll! Dirt? It builds up their immunities! Bugs? Protein!

My niece is a little terror. She's into everything and is unafraid of climbing on chairs and trying jump off. I swear I'll have a heart attack before my next birthday.

He is getting SO BIG!!!! You nailed it. As the cubb-o gets older I see the gulf widen between him and Lu. I asked my husband jsut last night "was Lauren always filthy like JJ is?".

No.

I have been a silent reader for a long time, but I had to say..AMEN, AMEN, AMEN! I have a 2 1/2 yr. old boy and wow. The dirt, the half-monkey, the bugs, etc. I'm glad it's not just mine that is wild and crazy! I love that you did it all in pictures- what a great post.

I have, so far, been blessed with a very mellow son. He is only 8 months though so I know it will change. Of course, my daughter was crawling and pulling up to furniture by the time she was this age and my boy isn't even rolling over yet.

There's nothing at all wrong with him.

It's just that he's lazy.

And that's the way we like him.

Car- I think you should get knocked up, it may be the only way to bring you around.

cjaners- oui. I am kind of annoyed though...I did all incubation work, he should look more like me.

Meta- yes, they are, it's only when they grow older that their hijinks wear thin, non?

~j - who else would this be for?

LVC- We have to get the boys together--especially since your adorable Phoebe has the most profound effect on Guille

April - no need for a heart attack, they'll fall and then stop doing it for a little while.

Beks, nope, somehow, that Y gene means 'Y not be filthy?!'

fiji- I miss you! And the little ones. I bet Livai could pull a handcart at this point.

Noelle- welcome and about the nephew thing...I wouldn't know since I DON'T HAVE ANY (hint, hint.)

KristiB- Welcome and yes your child is normal.

This is me- just. you. wait. He's just ramping.

The whole jumping off your shoulders thing makes me think of MY 2-1/2 year old. I swear I am the resident jungle gym for the kid, and I have the bruises to prove it. Did you notice that big scratch on my neck tonight at CPK? Courtesy of the big T. Lovely.

BTW, it was fun to meet you and some of the other bloggers in person. We should do it again soon.

I love this post. He's a little charmer. They all are. They are very good at fooling people...
