Nothing

There you go.

After a few hours of having meaningful and timable contractions last night we went the hospital. Nothing happened, so a few hours later, we got sent home. We did stop for Beto's on the way back.

That is how I am: wondering why I don't eat Beto's more often because it was good. Best 4:51 am food around. For those of you who don't have a Beto's, lo siento.

In the meantime, any length-weight predictions?

El Guille was 7 pounds and 19", but he was three weeks early.

That's because it's a local chain of Mexican "restaurants." I don't know if you can call them restaurants, but they serve relatively authentic food 24 hours a day that kicks the trash out of anything else around. For something so cheap and greasy it should be disgusting, but it's not.

I've heard that they also have some Beto's in SoCal?

It seems like I remember there being Beto's in SoCal. There was also Alberto's and Adalberto's, and there is/was one of those two restaurants on State Street in SLC around 33rd South. MMM... I'm so jonesing for real, live Mexican food.

8lbs 6oz 21" long. With long black hair and his father's disposition. He will love to cuddle and nurse, but only on his own schedule.

He'll wear the color blue but will actually prefer the color pink since it is so fashionable for guys these days. He'll say yes to dogs but no to cats.

He will think that summertime is his favorite time of the year but later will change it to winter once he learns to snowboard.

Those are my predictions!

Just had Beto's the other night: California Burrito, pico on the side (which makes it SO not mexican) + a side o' sour cream.

8 lbs. 5 oz.

I'm so sorry you got sent home from the hospital - what a bummer. I've been having long, painful contractions all day too and packed my bag a few hours ago. I told my husband to go ahead and go to sleep but I'm just sitting here waiting for a real reason to drive to the hospital. In the meanwhile I've gotten all my bills paid, the ebay packages ready to send out and the bathroom clean. I'm not sure what else I need to do to get ready but I sure as heck can't go to sleep with these contractions going on.

I predict for you 7 lb 12 oz and 20". Let's keep 'em small.

Race you to the finish!

8 lbs. 13 oz (that's what my 2nd weighed), and 20" long.

Here's to a quick (but not so quick you have him in the car) delivery!! (How would J do with that?)

Azúcar said...

J would panic and pass out. I'd probably end up driving the rest of the way to the hospital (because I have pioneer blood.)

I talked to My MIL yesterday and she told me that there had been some discussion that very day between their family as to whether J had been present at El Guille's birth. They all came to the conclusion that since J has often fainted (or come close to fainting) at the sight of blood, he could not have attended Guille's birth.

In fact J was there, but was traumatized and doesn't like to talk about it except in non-verbal shivers. J is terrified at the idea of having to deliver a child.

Still no news. Just sitting here on my lily pad.

Girl- I feel for you! The whole thing of having your first one 3 weeks early really screws you up! I seriously hope you are not like me where you start labor but can't sustain it! I pray something happens SOON! I predict something around 8lbs and 22 inches. Not too big, but he won't be a 6 pounder.
I was so sad leaving Provo and leaving Beto's behind, luckly they do have Albertos here in northern cali which is pretty comparable! YUM!!! Good luck... here's wishing the next time I check your blog there will be pictures of the new man in your life!

14 pounds 14 ounces

Just kidding, but that was my dad's birth weight. This could possibly expalin my lifelong fear of childbirth.

Keep eating the Beto's. If baby gets a whiff, he'll know it's worthwhile to get hatched.

14 pounds? Gravy!

8 pounds 11 ounces

Betos breakfast burrito. They don't taste right since becoming a vegetarian. I am going to bring you one in the hosptial and watch you eat it slowly.

Getting sent home from the hospital stinks. Good luck!

He sounds like he wants to stay inside of you and eat Beto's so I'm goin to say:
9lbs. 5oz
20" long.
And I'm going to predict that there will be scratch marks on the walls of your uterus.

My vote is 7 lbs 14 oz and 19" long. Also I have never tried Betos because I figured it would in fact be cheap and gross. But if you like it then I'll give it a go.

Azúcar said...

Oh it's cheap and gross, just in a good way.

you are my new favorite! i have to admit I held off reading you cause of the great profile pict, but oh I am so glad I over came my fear! Your St Patty's Day is the BEST! I took a stand this year- NO celebrating that ridiculous holiday, nothing happened, weird. I only did it to stick it to my mother in law, who lives two staes away, but whatever, I win!

good luck with el bambino!

Nothing is worse (well, almost nothing) than being sent home after having contractions all night! My last two kids were such teasers. So annoying.

9 lbs. 3 oz. 21 inches
