HI I’m bored hi

I can’t go to sleep because every 5 minutes Proximo wakes up and SCREAMS bloody murder and then returns to sleep. I’m packing because we, even against very sanguine advice, are going to see Thomas the Train tomorrow.

My house is also messy, yes Sarah, messy. I'd take a picture to prove it but what if La Professora saw it? I'd lose custody for sure!

I decided a couple days ago to switch out the winter shoes from the front closet with the summer shoes. Of course, this is nothing but good intentions because the box of scary-spiky stilettos is still near the door. Several times a day El Guille empties the box by throwing the shoes everywhere so that he can play with the box. I take the box away from him and clean up the shoes thinking I’ll take 10 minutes in an hour or so and do the change out. Lather, rinse, and repeat.

I haven’t felt well all day. Irregular abdominal pain, intermittent nausea, an I-can-feel-it-coming sore throat; this weird thing where my right hand has severe pain if I try to lift something or I move it funny. I bet I have the plague, or MS, a tumor, whiplash, and/or lyme disease. It could happen. For those of you betting on a reemergence of latent hemophilia, I bet you’re confusing that with latent hypochondria—after all, hemophilia is not latent and I don’t have a drop of royal in me…that I know of!

I am NOT going to talk about American Idol because really, how boring. Predictable, America, predictable.

I’m watching Law and Order which reminds me, for no good reason, of a pressing question:

Dear readers,

Who, in your opinion, is the best reoccurring character on a TV show of all time?

My first instinct is to go for Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe—the Neanderthal sports host on Frasier. He cracks me up. I think, however, that he was a series regular and not a reoccurring character. I think for the best of all time, I’d have to go with Janice! You know, Janice Hosenstein Litman Goralnik, repeat paramour of Chandler on Friends. Her trademark nasal voice and fantastic skin-tight animal print clothes are just the icing.

Who gets your vote?

Janice was great! "Chaaaaannnnnndleer."

I certainly hope you don't have the plague, or any of the other things you listed...

I have to agree with the Janice assessment. If only I could figure out how to spell her trademark laugh ...

A Mess? I don't believe it for a second. You pobably think a mess means a couple of shoes in the entryway and a book on the couch. I've seen your house. Plus I know about your secret identity (don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you're Wonder Woman).

I'm a pop-culture retard, as you know. So I'm afraid I can't help you on the question. But Andrew, on the last couple of seasons of Buffy, was and will ever remain my favorite. Right up there with Spike and Anya.

p.s. makin' cookies today. Do you need to come over and see what a real mess looks like? Or is the plague contagious?

My favorite returning character is Miles Drentell from Thirtysomething, who also showed up on Once & Again. He was evil and manipulative, but brilliant.

Not reoccurring, but remember when Frasier took a vacation and Lillith and her man were right next door? Oh, man. And then he had a dream about the same thing happening but it was Diane. Oh, MAN!

Hank Azaria was a great return character as Phoebe's love interest on "Friends."

Also, who can forget Stephen Urkel (pronounced Steph-on Ur-kel), Steve Urkel's hot clone on "Family Matters?" Granted, it was still Jaleel White, but...

I know, I'm such a nerd.

Hands down it was Ursula on both Mad About You and Friends. Lisa Kudrow is the best accidental airhead no matter what sister she was playing.

How about a least favorite: The John Denver lookalike, cousin Oliver, Brady Bunch. Just damned annoying, except he looked just like my little brother, and he was ADORABLE!

I actually liked Hank Azaria as Nat on Mad About You.

Does Adam Sandler on Remote Control count?

Beverley Leslie from Will and Grace.

I also like that Munch from Law and Order/Homicide/Law and Order/and Law and Order.
And I have got that same sickness you have. W has my burial arrangements memorized just in case.

It might be TB, I hear that's going around Provo.

Brendan Frasier on "Scrubs", the brother of the nasty Jordyn, best friend of Perry. I looove that show. His character was quirky and always provided a good laugh. Hope you get feeling better. My husband always gets on me about "need more sleep" to get better. I wish you happy, peaceful sleep. Even if it's only wishes.

Okay all you youngsters, look up some nostalgia television for this one...
Tom Poston as George, the hotel handyman on Newhart. He was genius. Always the bumbling airhead baffoon with a heart of gold, who always ended up being the sly like a fox dude in the end.
Tom passed away not to long ago this year. A loss for all vintage televion fans. R.I.P. George.

skewed- I'll do you one better. I've always thought that Poston's run on The Bob Newhart Show was far superior to Newhart. Then again, I never did like Newhart when you compare it to Bob Newhart. I will concede that the series finale to Newhart was absolutely brilliant (but of course I'd feel that way.)

Yen, thanks for the Munch reference. Love that guy. One of my dreams is to get the entire Homicide run on DVD. Maybe I'll gift it to myself for Christmas this year.
