LeNôtre (Just one of many I'm sure)

I did something almost unforgivable this weekend, I'll understand if you never want to be my friend again.

See, I made a dessert for a dinner party last Saturday night.  OK, in this case, 'dessert' actually means I made LeNôtre's Autumn Meringue cake: layers of crispy meringue layered with real chocolate mousse (none of that sissy whipped cream stuff) and decorated with white and dark chocolate leaves.  Oh Betty, it was incredible, almost indescribable.

And I forgot to take pictures.

The good news is that I need to make the cake again, so I'll be sure to take pictures.

The bad news is that if I make that cake again, I'm not sharing with anyone.

I'm going to assemble that sucker and port it immediately to my back room and not come out until my stomach and/or children are screaming in pain.

How about you make two more?

One for you to eat by yourself, and the other to share with the rest of us.

And while you're at it, maybe you could whip up a batch of those homemade marshmallows?

That would be so nice of you.

So you're saying the Canadian candy bars I picked up at Costco in Lethbridge would have paled in comparison? I was very sad to have missed your company.

And your cake.

Two cakes! That's a good idea!

Two cakes I can eat myself.

Awesome.

I awoke in the middle of the night and had one thought on my mind "That was the best cake I've ever eaten." Then I went back to slumber.

Last night I made cookies with Andes candies frosting on top. So, yeah, I'm totally in your baking league. Er... *hangs up nonexistant apron*

I hate it when that happens- just when you want to show off the goods and all of the sudden you weren't acting as vain as you should have. For a time I was keeping my camera in my kitchen- just in case.

Shame on you for no pictures. Has blogging not taught you anything?? I'll be dreaming of this tonight.

I don't think I could blog break up with someone who is capable of making something like that.

Even if they deny us the pictures.

I have a recipe for forgiveness. Make another, then share. Combination yields forgiveness.

The picture's the thing, you know. There's a reason the food network isn't on the radio. (Or maybe it is. XM or something. But it totally wouldn't be as good without the visuals.) I'll come back soon to visit your cake's picture.
