Morgan's Nie Benefit

I absolutely can’t wait for Morgan’s Nie Auction/Etsy sale next week. Not just that I made something for it, but I’m fully expecting to get a good amount of my Christmas shopping done. Oh yes, this is the year, I’ve decided, when I shall be prepared several months ahead of time. I may even have my Christmas shopping done before the Halloween costumes. Speaking of Christmas, in the What is the MATTER with Retailers Department, I noticed that the holiday decorations were out, oh, Labor Day. Sigh. I may want to plan ahead, but I don’t want to be reminded of it all.

A day before I started working on my item for Morgan’s sale, Other Half mentioned that we spend a lot of time on the computer. I showed him; instead I worked for hours straight, days on end, stitching the bag. I figure this is the worst bag I’m ever going to make. On the one hand I want you all to bid on it, on the other, I’ll have to apologize that my item doesn’t meet the quality of Louis Vuitton. Believe me, letting that dream go was devastating. I figure I’m going to need an industrial sewing machine next. I should probably look at some wholesaling for quality leathers. I’m insane.

One of the first things I did was to order a few sterling silver jet charms, because you can’t buy a Jet Set bag without a jet (it’s de rigueur.) I’m in love with the combination of gray and orange and have been splashing it on everything, this purse included.

Introducing the St. Mortiz Tote from The Jet Set:

It’s not as if Serge gave you days notice, no, in typical style he phoned when the driver was at the gate. As tiresome as Serge was becoming, you knew that the minute you faced him, carrying your gray wool herringbone St. Moritz Tote trimmed in orange grosgrain and lined in satin, all would be forgiven. Carefully you fingered the sterling silver jet, contemplating moving it from the button to the zip-pull. Just in case, you did stash your tiny black book in the interior compartment, hey, a girl should keep a few secrets during the hazy autumn season.

Be sure to check Morgan’s blog for details on the Nie Benefit sale!

Ha I'm first! That means I get to put dibs on the bag, and that means I get it! I really, really want it. Super classy...will you be mad if I buy it, then steal your design and make similar bags and sell them on my shop?

Didn't think so.

amazing! I can't believe you made this yourself. I'm impressed. I've been reading your blog for a while, just thought I'd finally comment.

OK...were you really complaining that you didn't think it was quality enough? I was expecting a simple tote bag, but oh no, this is high style! Very cute!

Guess what colors I am wearing right now? Grey and orange. It's a sign! I win by default!

The jet is wonderful. The bag is bliss!

I understand completely your entire sick process of creation; I just went through that with a christening gown. It's never good enough until it's FLAWLESS and it's never FLAWLESS, thus the pursuit for bigger and better tools. Yes, it's insanity. It's also very endearing. (Maybe because misery loves company?)

And besides all this, what, are you now a writer for J. Peterman? You have so many career options!

Huzzah (I don't even know what that means) the bag freaking rocks. And the charm. Brilliant. Everything that I have received absolutely rocks. I got 20 packages today (and that's about the daily average) oy.

Come to think of it, I think I would be a natural for the Peterman catalog. I should apply.

And a hearty welcome, rowboat!

Girl, that thing is delicious! Seriously. Quit your job and start sewing! Or at the very least designing and let someone else do the dirty work. In America, of course.

Want. Want want.

Vitton's got nothing on you.

P.S. My favorite-of-all-time Express sweater that I've worn five winters in a row now is orange-and-gray striped. Orange and gray is where it's AT.

I really like the bag, especially the orange. I hope EVERYTHING sells . . . I'm looking forward to seeing all the auction items.

I don't think I can do custom orders just yet--this one sent me running to wrist braces to recover.

I don't think I've mentioned this, but it's a big bag. I hope Morgan puts on the measurements.

How much did it go for? It was gone so fast that I didn't see... and you can't see the price on the sold page.

Azúcar said...

It was sold for $75. I wish I had more to offer!

Stephanie said...

This tote is fabulous...I totally missed it! Do you have an Etsy shop I can peruse? THANKS!

Likely said...

It could have gone for more. did you set that price or did she? It was the second thing bought...

Gigi said...

wow...I missed the sale on that bag and it had my name all over it. Is the pattern your creation? If so, you should consider selling it!

I am fairly new to blog land and just happened on this today. Obviously way too late to participate in any of the items on the Etsy shopping page. I would absolutely love one of these bags though. Is there any way possible to get you to make another one? Of course I don't have any idea what it did cost but I would love to talk to you about it. Please contact me www.cheribabe@gmail.com and my blog is www.cheribella.wordpress.com
Thanks so much and I have already added NieNie to my church's prayer list.

Where else have you been splashing gray and orange or is it grey and orange?
