AIG, Sure

...but Mother's Cookies is closing?

I knew thing were pretty bad, but now they're taking away our frosted animal cookies?

This carnage is unbelievable. Stock up while you can. No more Peanut Butter Gauchos, English Tea, Oatmeal sandwich, Frosted Oatmeal, or Double Fudge. I'm voting for no bailouts for GM, someone save Mother's Cookies.

They're an American icon. It's a crying shame!

been mourning this one for a good month now. seems like they tried everything to stay afloat, because I noticed in the stash I bought that the animal parade has gotten MUCH smaller in size.
I have a t-shirt commemorating the biz, I'll send you a pic. But first I have to go find your email....on FACEBOOK!

i can't believe the world is losing the circus animal cookies. i grew up eating those on "special occassions." they're my mom's favorite, so she would splurge every now and then and buy a bag...

They're 2 for $4 at Macey's.

Apparently we've really hit the bottom now.
So long little pink camels. We loved you!

I think this is the final sign that the apocalypse is nigh. At least in my house, because I don't think my husband can survive without those animal cookies.

Word verification: preverse -- is that what comes before a verse, or is it some European version of perverse?

I'm sad about losing these as an icon of my childhood, but that's about it. I don't think I've eaten them since I was about 18, and even that time I remember and thinking, "Why are these cookies dipped in wax?" But I am sorry for all those who loved them. Maybe one day they'll be back.

My mom occasionally used to let us eat the iced oatmeals for breakfast. "It's oatmeal, right?" she'd say.

Well, just shoot me in the heart, why don't you.

I am now going to enjoy a rousing blue streak of swears in the privacy of my own home.

NOOOOOO! Say it aint so! What will I use now for my 4th of July treats, they always come in Red, White and Blue.

This really makes me weep. Growing up in Oakland, our second grade field trip was to the Mother's Cookies plant, where they gave each of us a little bag of assorted cookies to take home. One of my best memories ever, and now that's all it'll ever be. Gone are the dreams of taking my own children to tour Mother's. My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes.

This makes me so sad.

My toddler always looks so cute with the pink icing all over his face.
