I know I told you that we made a Shirley Temple the other week, but guess what, we didn't.
The original original Shirley Temple wasn't made the way it is today. The original is made of ginger ale, orange juice, grenadine, ice, garnished with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice. And that, that is what I made tonight.
And it was really, really good.
2 glasses
Ice
1 whole orange
Ginger ale
Grenadine
Each glass gets the juice of half an orange. Squeeze over the ice, add the ginger ale. The drink will be so pretty you won't want to add the grenadine; it's your house, I won't be angry if you stop. If you can persevere, the grenadine makes this mocktail downright gorgeous. Garnish, drink, repeat, take bad cell phone pictures to post on this blog because the rugrats have ferreted away the camera.

I hear that Shirley Temples are even better if you put a little rum in them.
The same could be said for their namesake. Hi-o!
I like Andy.
Don't encourage him.
Just kidding, Andy loves being liked.
YUM!!
And double-yes to the rum.
Helps the kids go to sleep on time, what?
WOW!!! That sounds scrumptious!!! Been craving a good drink like that for a long time. Rock. On.
