The Good News

Great news everyone! E.G. started a Lego club and I am in! He told me himself!

(I am also invited to his next birthday party! [for now.])

Oh,

The other thing?

Sorry, Mo...

It's a GIRL!

When my mom told me I was getting a little brother, I asked if we could send him back to heaven and get a girl, instead. And, to be quite honest, I'm still a little ticked that things don't work that way.
Congrats on the news!

How exciting! Now go out and buy your very first "girlish item" to celebrate. If you haven't already. Girls are great. (boys are too).

Congratulations!! Little girls are SERIOUSLY fantastic, at least in my experience. (Not that boys aren't awesome, 'cuz of course they are. Girls are just a different kind of fantastic awesome.)

PS- I'm jealous. Now I need to convince the other people who live in my house to start a Lego club just so they can invite me to join.

Boo Yeah! That is awesome. So happy for you and E.G.

I am soo baby hungry, so I'll try not to be jealous.

I was going to guess girl earlier but last time I guess girl and I was wrong. I couldn't possibly face being wrong twice so I kept those feelings to myself. I mostly wanted you to have a girl since you are such a stylish woman, and I can only imagine the creations you will make for that little one of yours! Congratulations!

Oh and welcome to lego club... I suggest having a mocktail while participating.

Alright!

I'm just relieved for you that you don't have to explain to E.G. about how prayers are sometimes complicated.

Yay!! It is so fun! My boys are so different with their little sister than they are with each other. It is really sweet. Start saving up for the clothes now. Dressing my girl is an actual addiction. If she is in grungy clothes, my fingers start itching and I have to change her. It's like having a doll that loves me back (until she is a teenager who hates me.)

Either way, congratulations! Girls are a blast. Ignore anyone who tries to warn you about how 'emotional' they are. There are plenty of compensations.

Hooray hooray hooray for Legos and girls! And for boys. I love having both. (or all three if you count Legos.) Keeps me on my toes.

FoxyJ said...

Yay! And don't count on her not stealing the boys' Legos. My boy and girl fight all the time about who is using ours.

Awww...congratulations! I read your earlier post this morning and wondered. I'm in a household with all boys/men, and that's ok with me. Felicidades Azucar!

Congrats! Did you tell the ultrasound tech that the big brother really wanted a girl? We did, our daughter really wanted a sister and we told that to the ultrasound tech. The tech said that the baby was a girl. Than when the baby was born and it was a boy, I wondered if the ultrasound tech just made a bad guess or lied to us because she didn't want to break my daughters heart. We had our daughter with us.

Congrats! And is E.G. allowing applications? My 13YO would love to apply!

How delightful!

When we talk to people about Violet, we say she is sweet. And Ethan feels bad because we refer to her using a cliche. But there really is something so sweet about a baby girl. I am glad you and your family will get to enjoy that.

I think Joe should do a guest post on how he is preparing to raise a daughter. Surely he has a quirky mathematical solution, and we could all use a new method.

And also, you are invited to follow my blog too.

Awesomeness!!! Not to be biased, but us females are supremely fabulous. I can't wait to see what kind of daughter comes out of you two crazy kids!

(this is Reva, different sign-in name and all that)

And now you can join the world of raising a female . . . tell me what it's like. I hear it's totally different than raising males. I guess that makes sense.

Congratulations!

and she's going to be the best girl ever with a mom like you! just so you know, if her hair ever gets mullety, patrick will not trim it for you because he thinks mulleted she-toddlers are cute.

Hooray! I was crossing my fingers for a girl for you!

I was the only girl my parents had. Two boys, and they thought they were going to have another boy (ultrasounds were rarely used in those days). In fact, if I had been a boy, my parents likely would have stopped having kids. Well, I was born, and surprise! They got a girl! So, a few years later, they decided to try giving me a little sister, but I got a baby brother instead.

But whenever my little brother told me, "I wish you had never been born!" I would reply, "If I had not been born, you would not have followed." He should be thanking me for being born.

YES!!!!!

Welcome to the world of dress ups, tea parties, princesses, pretend make up, barrettes, purses, and all those fun girly girl things. Obviously a baby is always good news no matter the gender, but c'mon...this is exciting. Congrats!
