Tonight I was line dancing at a bar in Indiana. There was a Goth kid there looking very out of place. A band member singled him out, and I thought "Oh no, I can't handle it if they tease him." But the band member welcomed him, gave him a free tee shirt, and said he was glad he was there and to get his redneck on. Everyone cheered, and I thought of your post. I hope the skinny kid gets to feel included like that to balance out the pastel-wearing jerks.
